Apply for under 16 Special Education Needs and Disabilities travel assistance

Please be aware that we will be working during school holidays to arrange transport so you may not hear details before the end of the school term.

Nursery

  • if a child is attending a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) nursery you can ask for a travel assistance application form from the establishment they are attending
  • once the form has been completed, it should be handed back to the nursery who will forward it to the Education Travel team to assess for eligibility
  • you will be advised if your application has been successful or will be given details of how to appeal if it has not

Under 16

  • where a student is under the age of 16 and is attending a Special School, Mainstream Autism Base, Language Unit or other Educational Establishment, parents do not need to apply online
  • forms will be completed by an SEND caseworker who will then send the form to the Education Travel Team who will assess for eligibility
  • the Education Travel Team will respond to you directly once the form has been assessed letting you know if the application has been successful or giving you details of how to appeal if it has not
