Business Energy Efficiency Programme

Information about the free energy and resource efficiency reviews and grants for SME businesses.

There are only a limited number of free energy and efficiency assists left on the programme. Grant funding is running very low for Worcestershire, and has now been fully allocated in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

What is the Business Energy Efficiency Programme?

The Business Efficiency Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP) provides free energy and resource efficiency reviews and grants of up to £20,000 for SME businesses within Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire who wish to use their energy more efficiently; reducing costs and improving environmental credentials and impacts.

The Business Energy Efficiency Programme is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and is administered by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Herefordshire Council, Telford & Wrekin council, Worcestershire’s six district councils and Herefordshire and Worcestershire and Shropshire Chambers of Commerce.

The programme is available to businesses throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire.

What is on offer?

We are offering free energy efficiency assessments which could lead to grants for businesses who wish to use their energy more efficiently, reducing costs and improving environmental credentials.

Step 1: Energy & Resource Efficiency Assessment

An Energy Advisor will assess your equipment, premises, processes and performance to identify opportunities for improvements in energy usage. You
will then receive a report detailing recommendations for improvement.

Step 2: Grant Application

Following your assessment you can apply for a grant of up to £20,000. The grant intervention rate is 40% e.g. if your project costs £10,000, your
contribution is £6,000 and we provide £4,000. The minimum grant is £1,000.

The grant can fund:

  • lighting which includes movement / light sensors
  • variable speed drives & compressors
  • electric forklift & machinery
  • energy efficient equipment that leads to process improvements
  • systems offering better use of heat or waste heat
  • energy efficient refrigeration equipment
