Worcestershire Libraries are committed to supporting people across the county who are currently job seeking. Working with key partners and national service providers we aim to raise aspirations, improve skills levels and help people find employment.

Being unemployed can be a difficult and stressful time but there is support out there to help you find your next job. Here are some links to local and national websites that provide career and job support.

  • Worcestershire Jobs is an online job search tool for those looking for job opportunities in Worcestershire
  • Skills 4 Worcestershire is a careers website designed to provide Worcestershire residents with all the information required to understand the career opportunities available in Worcestershire
  • Careers Worcs is a service specifically aimed at supporting 16-24 year olds affected by Covid-19 to navigate current education and training choices
  • Job Help is a national service offering essential advice to those looking for work. Find out which sectors are recruiting now, how to make the best of transferable skills and how to secure a new role
  • National Careers service provides information, advice and guidance to help you with your career, learning and training choices. Find out which careers might be right for you by completing a skills assessment and seek advice if you have recently been furloughed. One to one advice is also available by calling 0800 100 900
  • The Skills Toolkit is a new national service providing FREE high-quality digital and numeracy courses to help learners build their skills, progress in work and boost their job prospects. Certificates are awarded once a course is successfully completed

Careers advice, training and volunteering

  • Worcestershire Apprenticeships Supporting young people who want Traineeships or Apprenticeships and employers who may be considering an apprentice for their business. We can help by providing you with impartial information, advice, guidance and support. Website includes live vacancies within Worcestershire.
  • Building Better Opportunities project - YMCA Worcestershire - Tailored 1-1 support for anyone 16+ who is unemployed and looking to find work. Helping people remove barriers that are preventing them from accessing employment, education or training.
  • BARN - Bromsgrove and Redditch Network supports volunteers and community organisations.  Volunteering can be a useful first step to gaining work experience, learning new skills and improving your CV. Register your interest in volunteering via BARN and access volunteering opportunities in the local area.
  • Heart of Worcestershire College - The largest further education college in Worcestershire County; with campuses in Bromsgrove, Redditch, Worcester and Malvern.  HOW provide higher education, apprenticeships and careers advice.
  • The Prince's Trust - A youth charity that helps young people aged 11 to 30 get into jobs, education and training.

  • Worcestershire Jobs Match Set up by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP), Worcestershire Jobs Match works with partners to match those recently made redundant due to COVID-19 with new work in sectors experiencing a surge in employment demand such as food retail, agriculture, logistics, care, and many more. It also aims to support self-employed people who have registered a significant drop in work, to redeployment in industries where immediate recruitment is needed
  • Worcestershire County Council Jobs and Careers Worcestershire County Council maintains an up to date list of apprenticeships, traineeships and job opportunities available at the Council
  • Job help offers essential advice to those looking for work, on which sectors are recruiting now, how to make the best of transferable skills and how to secure a new role
