Young People's Library Membership (13-19 years)

To join the library, young people aged between 13 to 19 years can:

  • Visit their  local library with a parent or guarantor and get Full Library Membership including access to computers and the internet, or
  • Visit their local library without a parent or guarantor and become an Instant Member, which allows you to borrow up to 2 books at a time, or, 
  • Fill out the Digital Membership form to get access to all the online services and eLibrary, then visit the library with a parent or guardian (with a form of identification showing name and address) at a later date to get the membership upgraded to include computer access and to borrow books

The Young Person's Library Card is believed to be the first dedicated library card for teenagers in the Midlands and was designed by local teenage artist, Louis Burrows, who won a county-wide competition and worked with local street artists to produce the design.
