Road space booking fee

Types of works requiring a licence:

• house Maintenance or building or repairing a Boundary Wall
• carrying out tree works
• Traffic lights, stop-and-go boards or other traffic management requiring a legal order
   

Costs

A licence will cost £75, any extension, date change or amendment to an existing licence will cost £50.

Timescales: we need a minimum of 20 days’ notice to process the application * In exceptional emergency situations it is possible for us to grant the licence with less than 20 days’ notice but this would be at an increased cost of £120.

*For any works that require a road closure a 12 week lead in time in required due it needed a legal order plus associated legal order costs.

Before you start your application

For your application you will need to:

• provide Works/Permit Reference (Private Works, not applicable)
• provide a description, details and a plan of the works
• a proposed diversion route
• agree to our Terms and Conditions
• pay online (Private Works) or provide a Purchase Order number (Utility)
• if the works relate to the laying of apparatus, a Section 50 application will be required
• provide Section 171 application if its building materials deposited on the highway
