Free specialist advice and decarbonisation assessments aimed at supporting organisations across Worcestershire

No new grant applications are being accepted - all funds allocated

The decarbonisation portal is still fully available

The Programme supported organisations/businesses across Worcestershire to reduce their greenhouse emissions, to help move towards the net zero carbon target.

Advice and reviews

  • basic decarbonisation advice (1-4 hour/s telephone consultation/desktop review) – Telephone consultation from a specialist for any business or organisation from any sector within Worcestershire
  • decarbonisation Review (12-26 hours) – Support for less complex projects to help identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions on a path to decarbonisation  
  • bespoke Reviews (5-15 days) – Support for more complex or specialist decarbonisation projects that require feasibility, specification and project management or decarbonisation reviews of large sites with multiple buildings or complex manufacturing processes 

Due to the funding requirements, we are currently prioritising Business/Organisations based in the Wyre Forest area but cater to the whole of Worcestershire

Training

Training for individuals and accreditation for business to support the retrofit market - 100% funding reimbursement for an OFQUAL registered retrofit course such as 

  • Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator Course which on average take up to 150 hours to complete with an average cost of £2,500 (including VAT) - Closed to new applicants
  • Level 2 Introduction to domestic retrofit course on average take up to 21 hours with an average cost of £714 (including VAT)

Due to the funding requirements, we are currently prioritising individuals based in the Wyre Forest area but cater to the whole of Worcestershire.

Please note that approval of the funding application is required before you begin the course to be eligible for reimbursement. 

Smart meters

We are offering 100% funding up to a maximum of £1,000 per unit (a max of £10,000 total grant) for businesses/organisations for the purchase and installation of Smart Meters and Monitoring equipment.

Case study

Changing to LED lighting, programming machinery more effectively and investing in an electricity sub-meter are among some of the changes Vision Labs implemented after receiving a fully funded Decarbonisation review.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. The UK Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22. This aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment (please note this project will be required to report on the employment status of applicants).
