Our mental health social care strategies show our ambition for mental health services in Worcestershire. To help us achieve our strategies we have developed several policies which set out how we will work. Mental Health Act Section 117 Policy and Procedure

This policy describes the statutory framework for managing and supporting persons to whom section 117 of the Mental Health Act 1983 applies across Worcestershire.  The purpose of the policy is to: 

  • provide a consistent approach across Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS   
  • clarify agreements for the funding of Section 117 between the CCG and the local authority
