Local Development Scheme

The County Council is responsible for the preparation of planning policy for minerals and waste development in Worcestershire.

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a public statement setting out the programme for the production of minerals and waste development plan documents by the County Council over the next three years.

All development plan documents prepared by the Council, including the Waste Core Strategy and the Minerals Local Plan, must be prepared in accordance with this timetable.

Current Local Development Scheme

The current Local Development Scheme (2020) was approved by Cabinet to come into effect on 30 September 2020. It sets out the extended timetable for the examination and adoption of the Worcestershire Minerals Local Plan and for the production of the Mineral Site Allocations Development Plan Document following delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the consequent changes to the timetable for commencing the review and revision of the adopted Waste Core Strategy.

It sets the timetable for these documents over the period September 2020 to December 2023
