What we are doing and what have we done:

• visits to schools, colleges, and settings across Worcestershire to gather feedback from CYP with additional needs
• meetings to review feedback and create draft quality assurance statements
• sharing draft statements with young people at the Voices United Forum for further refinement
• developing emerging outcomes to be shared with a wider range of children and young people for feedback and input

The difference this makes to CYP:

• CYP are co-producing outcomes that reflect their priorities and experiences
• a clearer understanding of what “a good life” means for CYP with SEND in Worcestershire
• CYP can see their ideas making a difference and shaping the services they use

The difference this makes to policies, services and workforce:

• the outcomes created by CYP will directly inform Worcestershire’s SEND strategy
• services will be designed around what CYP say matters most
• stronger local area partnership working and improved accountability through quality assurance

How we will know we are making a difference:

• surveys and focus groups with children and young people to check if they feel the outcomes are reflected in services
• regular reviews of the quality assurance statements
