UK Trading Standards Approved offers a list of businesses who have each given a commitment to trader fairly and each business will be checked by Trading Standards before being approved as a member of the Scheme. It is a local scheme in partnership with Worcestershire Trading Standards Service initially covering home improvements businesses.

Members of the Scheme will be vetted against a standard set of criteria designed to assess whether they are honest and trustworthy and then Trading Standards will do further background checks. Only when we are confident that a business can meet the Code of Conduct for the Scheme will they be awarded the Trading Standards Approved logo.

The goal

The goal of the Scheme is to protect Worcestershire consumers from being scammed or targeted and increase consumer confident whilst supporting businesses who are committed to providing great customer service and operating legally. The overall aim of having the Scheme in place is to help reduce the business opportunities for less reputable traders.
