Autism Support Pilot for 14 to 25 year old's living in Herefordshire and Worcestershire

Autism Support Pilot for 14 to 25 year old's living in Herefordshire and Worcestershire

Support for Autistic Young People -Trial

Herefordshire and Worcestershire NHS are offering a period of support to those aged between 14-25 who are awaiting an autism assessment or have been diagnosed as autistic.

We wish to evaluate how personalised support and practical tools can help young autistic people at this important time of their lives.

What does it mean to be part of the pilot scheme?

The support will be free and designed to each person’s individual needs. It will build on strengths

and help with those things that may be difficult or challenging. There will be a choice of two support packages, both offering tailored information and help.

We will then complete a review to assess the effectiveness of the support received. This information will lead to the provision of user-led support in the future so we can help and support more young people.

Why take part?

The free support service which will be provided, will support autistic young people to build strategies, skills and tools to help manage their every day. This will help build confidence, and learn to manage anxiety and overwhelming situations.

The trial will ensure autistic young people, or ‘experts by experience’, will have a voice to help shape future support.

How to apply

It’s simple and easy to apply to take part.

Young people, who fit the criteria, or their parents, can self-refer using the link which can be found on the website. You can also find out more about the trial and the support available on the NHS website.
