Supporting children without parental consent

Supporting children without parental consent

When working with young people it is important to understand that they can ask for help and support for themselves and may choose to ask you not to share this with their parents. Although, in most cases children and young people should be encouraged to speak to their parents, professionals and agencies must be familiar with The Fraser Guidelines and Gillick competence.
