Key Stage 1 and 2

Key Stage 1 and 2

How libraries can support children in Key Stage 1 and 2.

We have lots of activities you can choose from, this list is not complete so please get in touch if you are interested in a theme or activity.

Here are some examples of what we offer for this age group:

School visits

Our library staff visit your school.

Story time and rhyme time visits in school

From storytelling to a jig and rhyme, our staff can visit small groups in your school. The visits last around 30 minutes and you can choose either a story or rhyme-time session.

Library Visits

Bring your pupils for a visit to their local library. We can offer a short storytelling or rhyme-time session during your visit if you let us know beforehand.

Storytime

A fun activity that encourages children to explore library spaces by looking for letters hidden in the library to make up a word. Can be themed based on the needs of the class. This session encourages children to explore and familiarise themselves with the space in the library.
