Shared Use Link

Shared Use Link

Information on a new Shared Use Link between Shrub Hill Station and Worcester City Centre.

Construction is about to begin on a new shared use path at Shrub Hill Quarter - an exciting step forward in the regeneration of this key area of Worcester.

Funded by the UK Government and delivered in partnership with Worcester City Council, the new link will significantly improve walking and cycling access in and around Shrub Hill. Designed for both cyclists and pedestrians, this shared use route will provide a safer, more accessible connection between the City Centre and key local destinations, including:

  • Worcester Shrub Hill Station
  • local bus services
  • residential and commercial areas

The goal is to encourage more people to choose sustainable, active travel across the city.

This shared use link represents a major milestone in the transformation of Shrub Hill Quarter. It supports Worcester’s long-term vision to become a greener, more connected city that promotes healthier lifestyles and reduces reliance on cars.

The project is part of a broader regeneration strategy funded through the £10 million Towns Fund, secured by Worcester City Council.

The scheme includes:

  • 2,000m² of high-quality public realm
  • a new route following Cromwell Street, linking Shrub Hill Road to Pheasant Street
  • a direct connection between Shrub Hill Station and the City Centre

Please see the Artists Impressions below for an idea of what the link will look like once it has been constructed.

While work on the shared use path is just beginning, it’s part of a much larger plan to revitalise the Shrub Hill area -  modernising one of Worcester’s key gateways and laying the foundation for future growth and innovation.

Stay tuned for updates as we bring this exciting vision to life.
