Walking and Cycling Improvements

We’re investing more into walking and cycling provision than we have in the last 50 years and are delivering, or in the process of delivering, on 34 promised schemes since the launch of the Local Transport Plan (LTP4) in 2017.

The approach set out in LTP4 is to facilitate active travel along whole corridors and routes and not to take a piecemeal approach. By taking the corridor approach we can provide consistently greater travel choice for both commuters and leisure walkers and cyclists.

On these pages you can find out more about walking and cycling infrastructure improvements happening across the county.
