National Landscapes (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty)

Information about National Landscapes and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs)

From November 2023, all Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) have been rebranded in line with the government's Landscapes Review of 2019 and their working name is now 'National Landscapes'.

This change to National Landscape will help enhance the status of the designation and better reflect the important role these landscapes play.

The legal designation status remains unchanged and the two National Landscapes in the county, the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds National Landscapes remain as AONBs and some of the most visited areas of the county.

National Landscapes are looked after by a partnership that include representatives from local authorities, government agencies, parish councils, landowners, local communities and voluntary groups.
