Urgent notices

11/9/20 - Evesham Library will be reopening to the public on Monday 14 September. The library will be open as normal Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5pm & Saturday 9.30am – 4pm. Customers are advised that essential building works to repair roof damage, caused by recent heavy winds, will be ongoing and internal scaffolding may reduce accessibility to some areas. Library staff will be on hand to help customers who need assistance to navigate the space.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for our library users updated 10 September 2020

This library will reopen on Monday 14th September 2020.

We are delighted that all of Worcestershire’s libraries will once again be open for business this September. Hagley and Woodrow libraries are the only sites to remain closed, but both are scheduled to reopen on 14 September.

Revised opening hours are in operation at several libraries, so please check opening times below before planning your visit.

Service provision at all open libraries is still limited but customers can now:

  • browse shelves and borrow books using self-service kiosks
  • return books
  • pre-book public computers
  • pre-book a desk in the library for study and/or wi-fi
  • place reservations as normal

Library staff will be on hand to answer queries and provide information

Social distancing and hygiene measures are in place for everyone’s safety. The number of customers allowed into a library at any one time will be managed; browsing time is limited to 20 minutes and computers and desks are cleaned thoroughly after each use.

Libraries are still unavailable for group events and activities, as a meeting place or a place to spend time reading or relaxing. Customers can access a wide range of online library activities via the Digital Library Hub, Worcestershire Libraries facebook page (opens in a new window) and access on-demand content via the library service You Tube Channel (opens in new window)

The return date for all items borrowed before 10th August has been extended until 30 September. Customers must return or renew books before 30 September to avoid overdue fees. Books can be renewed online or by calling the customer contact centre on 01905 822722.

Items borrowed by customers from re-opened libraries since 10th August are subject to normal borrowing terms and conditions.

From 8 August it became mandatory to wear a face covering when visiting a library. Read the GOV.UK information regarding face coverings (link opens in new window)
