School and college travel

Last updated 24 February 2021

In light of the continued and rising increase in community transmission and COVID infection rates, Worcestershire County Council with advice from Public Health have decide to make the wearing of face coverings mandatory on Home to School Transport from Tuesday 6 October.

Children under the age of 11 will be exempt and the council will follow the same guidance that is in place for Public Transport.

Worcestershire County Council is working with schools to ensure they will have a supply of face coverings for those pupils who do not currently have one and these will be available from school.

School transport

Further to the on-going Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, as schools are set to return from 8 March 2021, all school transport will resume as per their operation in the Autumn Term.

Payments for the remainder of Spring Term

Where  a payment had not been made for the second half of the Spring Term already or a new application had been submitted  during lockdown, we will now be sending out payment letters with pro rata rates for transport from 8 March to the end of the Spring Term.

Refunds Spring 2021

Spring 1 half term and Spring and Annual pro rata refunds covering 1 January to 8 March have now all been processed and should be received by the end of February.

Direct Debits Spring Term 2021

The December direct debit payment will cover transport from 8 March to the end of the Spring Term. The March Direct Debit will now run on 28 March 2021, as this is the first payment towards the Summer Term.

Unfortunately, we are still unable to offer the option to pay by Direct Debit for the Summer Term if you did not pay by Direct Debit last year, due to constraints in processing and setting up new mandates. We are hoping that we will be able to offer this option for 2021 to 2022.
