Buy Nothing New Month

Pledge to reuse, repair and rehome during November.

If everyone on Earth lived like people in the UK, we would need more than two and a half planets to regenerate and absorb our waste. To change this, we should shift to a circular economy that reduces waste and values what we already have.

Keep Britain Tidy’s Buy Nothing New Month encourages people to avoid buying anything new in November (except for essential food and medicine). Instead, the focus is on rehoming, reusing, or repairing items.

Last time, 73% of participants didn't buy anything new, 75% reused or repurposed items they already had, and 43% fixed or repaired something. This month is a chance to rethink how we use resources and live more sustainably.

To sign up visit Buy Nothing New Month - Keep Britain Tidy and keep an eye out for lots of social media activity with a different topic every week.
