Repair Cafes

Worcestershire has 7 repair cafes where all kinds of household and personal items can be repaired free of charge.

Have you ever thought of having that broken toaster, damaged chair or torn blouse repaired instead of throwing it away and replacing with new? Take it to one of the county’s Repair Café’s where no repair is too small or too challenging for the volunteers.

After assessment of the broken item, the appropriately skilled repairer will work their magic and by encouraging the 'customer' to sit with them so that they learn how to repair it themselves.

Although there is no charge for the repair and advice service, donations are welcome and these help to cover costs and ensure that the service remains free for everyone at the point of delivery.

Each repair café diverts on average 2 to 3 tonnes of waste from landfill each year as well as reinforcing the traditional messages of reusing items rather than throwing them away.
