DIY waste

DIY waste needs to be disposed of either at Household Recycling Centre or a bulky waste collection by your local council if you do not have the means to transport the waste to an HRC.  If you are using a van to transport the waste to an HRC you will need a CVT Permit to prove that you are not a trader.

If you are paying someone to take the waste away for you, please ensure that they have a Waste Carrier's License and provide you with a receipt for the items that they have taken. A legitimate waste carrier will happily provide this.  If you pay a "man with a van" to take your waste away and it is fly-tipped you may be liable for prosecution if the waste is traced back to you.  Please see our Householder's Duty of Care page for more information.
