Overview

An Armed Forces musician plays one or more musical instruments to the highest standard. Provides music for military parades and tattoos, sporting events, concerts, regimental dinners, and state occasions - such as visits from overseas VIP’s, royal weddings, and funerals. You would need to be willing to learn a musical instrument, possibly more than one, have a good ear for music and enjoy working as part of a team.

  • Rehearsing and developing music for concerts and performances
  • Travel worldwide to perform at venues and arenas
Workplace

This role can be carried out indoors and outside depending on which type of event was taking place. Practise sessions would most likely be done indoors.

Working Hours

The hours would be variable and take place during daytime, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Salary

Starting salary: £15,985

Qualifications

No formal qualifications are required and school leavers to postgraduates can apply for this type of job. Applicants would need to be competent performers on any wind, percussion, contemporary or stringed instrument.
