Radiography assistants and imaging support workers are crucial cogs in the diagnosis and treatment of NHS patients.

Workplace

Radiography assistants work in hospitals and mainly indoors.

Working Hours

Radiography assistants usually work around 37.5 hours a week. This may include evenings, nights, and weekends.

Salary

Starting salary: £18,500

Experienced salary: up to £24,000

Qualifications

There are no set entry requirements for radiography assistants and imaging support workers. Some employers expect good numeracy, literacy and IT skills or a healthcare qualification. Some employers may be more flexible. You may also be able to access this role via a supported internship. If you have an EHCP you may be able to apply under the DfE exemption which allows the apprentice to use Entry level 3 English and Maths qualifications. T

he apprentice would have to be component enough to successfully achieve all other aspects of the apprenticeship requirements, become occupationally competent and achieve Entry Level 3 in English and Maths before the end of their apprenticeship.
