Lemons

Information
  • keep lemons in the fridge, in a loosely tied plastic bag for freshness
  • bring to room temperature before you use them
  • you can buy lemons when they are on offer and chop them into wedges for drinks and freeze them
  • as well as using them in cold drinks, use them in a cup of hot water with a cinnamon stick , this makes a refreshing drink when you are trying to cut down on tea/coffee and it can increase your water intake
  • juice lemons and freeze the juice in an ice cube tray then freeze the skins
  • they are much easier to zest with a grater when frozen
  • roll citrus fruits on a hard surface with your hand to make them easier to cut
  • or you can put the fruit into the microwave for 10 seconds on high power to release the juices
