Batteries

Batteries (including car batteries)

Household batteries should not be put into either your black/grey or green bins.  Residents of Wychavon can place bagged up batteries on their black bin on collection day and it will be placed in an area under the vehicle and recycled separately.

Otherwise take all batteries, including car batteries, to a Household Recycling Centre where they can be recycled.  Shops & supermarkets also have battery recycling containers.

Please ensure that you remove batteries from all small electrical items where necessary and recycle separately in the battery recycling point.  Lithium batteries can cause fires in recycling facilities and collection vehicles.
