Revised Early Support Documents – Consultation Draft
These documents are currently undergoing revision in line with the Department for Education’s (DfE) Early Years assessment tracking guidance, which can be accessed here: DfE Early Years Assessment Tools. The updated Worcestershire documents will be made available at this location once the consultation process is complete.
The Early Years Inclusion Team, in collaboration with practitioners from both mainstream and specialist settings, has updated the EYFS Early Support documents to reflect the changes within the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. These documents are currently in draft form, as we view them as evolving resources. We warmly welcome feedback from SENCOs and practitioners on their content. Comments can be sent to: eyinclusion@worcestershire.gov.uk.
While the revised EYFS guidance states that detailed tracking is not necessary for most children who are meeting expected milestones, it remains an essential part of the Graduated Response Cycle for children with additional needs. These revised documents incorporate key statements from both Birth to Five Matters and Development Matters frameworks.
