As we head towards winter, Worcestershire County Council is encouraging residents within the county to ensure they’re prepared for potential flooding.
The message comes as part of Flood Action Week (13-19 October), a campaign organised by the Environment Agency to highlight the dangers of flooding and raise awareness about what people can do before, during and after a flood.
Flooding can happen at any time and it’s not just those who live or work near a watercourse that can be affected, as surface water can impact anyone.
Flood warning services, are available so anyone can ensure they are prepared when the heavy rain comes to the county. To sign up for a flood warning, please visit: Prepare for flooding: Protect yourself from future flooding - GOV.UK.
In the event of heavy rain, the County Council website will be kept up to date with all the latest information, including school or road closures.
Details will also be shared across the Council’s social media channels.
Further information and advice is available on the dedicated flood advice pages of the County Council website.
