Two of the county’s standout tourism and hospitality experiences have received national recognition at the VisitEngland Awards of Excellence, which was held at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on Wednesday 4 June.
Abbots Grange Manor House in Broadway and Andrew Hurley, a long-standing volunteer at Avoncroft Museum, proudly represented the county after success at the regional Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards.
Abbots Grange Manor House secured the Silver Award in the B&B and Guest House of the Year category, highlighting the Broadway accommodation as one of the best in the country. This achievement celebrates Abbots Grange’s exceptional standards, marking it as a standout destination for visitors seeking truly special accommodation in the county.
Andrew Hurley received the Bronze Award in the Unsung Hero category – an individual honour that recognises over 35 years of voluntary service at Avoncroft Museum. The award is a testament to Andrew’s dedication to preserving the national collection of telephone kiosks – one of the most extensive in the country.
Councillor Alan Amos, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Business and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I’m delighted to see Worcestershire’s tourism sector recognised on the national stage. Our visitor economy is led by passionate businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to make the county a welcoming and memorable place to visit.
