Support from the County Council to help Worcestershire businesses grow

Worcestershire County Council offer a variety of support for businesses of all sizes across the county and are dedicated to helping local businesses develop and thrive, from local start-ups to high-growth enterprises.

It’s making it easier for local businesses to access services by supporting local employers through coordinated efforts across multiple teams.

These include the Skills and Employability Service, free business start-up support through Worcestershire Libraries Business & IP Centre (BIPC), and the Worcestershire Growth Hub.

Businesses also benefit from tailored support such as development advice, recruitment assistance, upskilling opportunities, and guidance on funding and innovation.

Councillor Alan Amos, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Skills, said: “Worcestershire’s businesses are at the heart of our economy – and we are determined to give them the support they need to succeed. We’re not interested in gimmicks, we're interested in real results. Whether it is helping employers recruit the right people, such as through apprenticeships, providing access to training, or offering guidance on growth opportunities, we are focused on removing barriers and delivering practical, joined-up support.

A strong local economy needs skilled people, successful businesses, and the confidence to invest. That’s what we’re building a more robust, ambitious Worcestershire that’s ready for the future."

Worcestershire Growth Hub offers expert business advice and connections to funding opportunities, while Worcestershire Libraries host BIPC Worcestershire which provides one-to-one support and workshops for pre-start/start-up businesses. In addition, the county council’s Skills & Employability service run initiatives such as Skills Bootcamps, Careers Worcs, Get Worcestershire Working, and Connect to Work all of which help to develop a skilled, local workforce.
