A brand-new podcast episode has been created especially for this year’s Wythall & Hollywood Fun Run featuring a very special guest.

Olympic medallist and World Champion runner Steve Cram joins Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire, and UK RunChat host Michelle for an inspiring and informative conversation. They discuss the power of running, not just for fitness, but for community and wellbeing.

In the episode, you’ll hear about:

  • the importance of community-led events like the fun run in improving public health
  • who takes part in local runs and how inclusive they can be
  • the social and mental health benefits of running together
  • expert training tips from Steve Cram on preparing for your first 10k, improving your time, and avoiding injuries
  • and at 33 minutes in, Steve shares his single best piece of advice for runners

Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire, said: “Events like the Wythall & Hollywood Fun Run aren’t just about physical fitness, they’re about feeling part of something, making connections, and supporting each other. This podcast is a brilliant way to get motivated, learn from the best, and feel more confident about getting involved.

“There’s 6 weeks to go before the fun run and lots of people will be completing their Couch to 5K or 10K training, so it’s perfect timing to listen to this to keep you going. If training is feeling tough at the moment, please remember that you can’t run too slow! Everyone is welcome, we just want to see you on the day and have fun!”
