Lesk Engineers drive innovation and growth through local collaboration in Elevate Programme

Worcester-based precision engineering firm Lesk Engineers is accelerating growth and innovation through their involvement in the Elevate Growth programme.

With over 50 years of experience, Lesk Engineers specialise in subcontracting for sectors such as automotive (Morgan Cars), aerospace (Eden), and defence communications.

Through the Elevate Growth programme, Lesk Engineers connected with local businesses, including Central Scanning, resulting in the development of 3D-printed prototypes for tooling.

Councillor Adam Kent, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Infrastructure, and Skills, praised the programme’s impact: “The Elevate Growth programme is a fantastic example of how local businesses can collaborate and support each other to drive innovation and growth. Lesk Engineers’ success is a testament to the value of these partnerships and how we can continue to build a stronger economy in Worcestershire by working together.”

Gary Ketteringham, of Lesk Engineers shared: “We’ve had some parts manufactured by Central Scanning thanks to the connections we made through Elevate Growth. I reached out to Nick from Central Scanning after meeting him at one of the Growth Forums. The 3D models his team created have allowed us to perfect the design of complex tools, ensuring their accuracy before moving into full production. Having a physical prototype has been a game-changer.”

The 3D models produced through this collaboration are now being used to design and test tools for tasks like maintaining and laying phone cables—critical for sectors such as telecoms.

Following completion of the Elevate Growth programme, Lesk Engineers has also joined the Skills Boost programme provided by Worcestershire LEP, further enhancing their team’s skills and capabilities.

Both initiatives are part of a broader push to support regional SMEs, funded in part by the UK government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Worcestershire County Council.
