Worcester’s iconic building will be re-opening its doors to give people who haven’t yet been vaccinated an opportunity to receive their first dose this Saturday.

This follows the fantastic response to the nationwide Grab A Jab Campaign.

Over 1 million doses have been completed across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and it’s really important we continue to do all we can to keep people protected.

If you are over 18 and haven’t had your Covid-19 vaccination yet, you do not need to book, just turn up and have your vaccine. Please remember to bring photo ID with you to prove your age and bring a face covering.

The clinic will be available for people to receive their first doses of the Moderna vaccination only.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 3 July, with the final slot available from 3:30pm.

Public Health in Worcestershire, together with NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Worcester City Council are working together, to help people get their first vaccination at a convenient place and time.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: Our vaccine programme, in Worcestershire has been really successful. We are so grateful to everyone who has come forward so far to get their jab. It is so important that people are able to have the vaccination. The number of people coming forward last weekend has made a real difference. I am so thankful to Worcester City Council and our local NHS partners who have once again offered to turn the Guildhall into a walk in vaccination centre. Clinics like these make it so much easier and more convenient for people come forward and to get vaccinated. Vaccination not only protects the person receiving the vaccine but it also helps to protect their families and wider community.”

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Leader of Worcester City Council, added: “It’s vital that all adults across the country have their first vaccine dose by 19 July when the remaining Covid restrictions are expected to be lifted, so I’m very pleased to be able to once again welcome people to the Guildhall to get their first jab.

“The walk-in sessions on Saturday and there’s no need to book.. So come on in – and remember to bring photo ID to prove your age.”

Simon Trickett, Chief Executive Officer for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG said: “As the nation gears up for the removal of Covid restrictions in July, it is more important than ever that all adults get their vaccine, to protect themselves and those around them.

“I am thankful to all partners and volunteers who are helping to make these clinics happen in Worcestershire.”

The on-site team can help find your NHS number if you bring photo ID with you.

You don't need to be registered with a GP to access the vaccination.

The Guildhall is in High Street and access for those with mobility issues to enter and receive their vaccination will be clearly signposted. Parking is available nearby in Copenhagen Street.
