A walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Heart of Worcestershire College, St Andrews Building, Deansway, Worcester aimed at 16 and 17 year olds will be available next week.

The clinic will be open on Tuesday 31 August and Wednesday 1 September from 10am to 7pm.

Photo ID will be required but there is no need to book. Simply turn up to get your first Pfizer jab.

Public Health in Worcestershire, NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Worcester City Council are working together to make it easier and more convenient for people to get vaccinated.

Liz Altay, Deputy Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: “Walk-in clinics make it much easier and more convenient for people to come forward to get their jab. Vaccination against COVID-19 is so important, not just because it protects the person receiving the vaccine, but it also helps to protect friends, family and the community.”

Nicki Williams, Deputy CEO & Vice Principal of Heart of Worcestershire College said: "We are pleased to offer our students and other 16 and 17 year-olds the chance to simply pop in and get their first COVID-19 jab at HOW College, Worcester.

The clinic will be open at our Deansway site for two days this week and we invite anyone aged 16 or 17 to drop in to receive a vaccination.”

Dr. Gemma Moore, Clinical Lead at SW Healthcare & GP Partner at Ombersley Medical Practice said: “The Pfizer vaccine has been approved for 16 and 17 year olds by the MHRA and JCVI. We’ve already delivered it to many vulnerable patients in this cohort in the early stages of the rollout - so we know it’s safe and effective.

If patients have any questions or concerns about the vaccine, we’ll have clinicians on site throughout who’ll be happy to talk to them to make sure getting vaccinated is the best decision for them - so they should feel welcome to come along and visit us at the Heart of Worcestershire College this week.”

Councillor James Stanley, Chair of Worcester City Council’s Communities Committee, said: “We had a remarkable turnout for the first vaccine clinic at HOW College, with more than 1,000 16 to 17 year olds getting jabbed. With schools and colleges about to reopen, I would encourage all 16 to 17 year olds who still need their first dose to take a few minutes out of their day next Tuesday or Wednesday to come along and get vaccinated.”
