Young people across Worcestershire can take charge of their future this August during the first-ever Careers Worcestershire Week.
Careers Worcestershire (Careers Worcs) is a free support service from Worcestershire County Council’s Skills and Employability team, helping 16 to 24-year-olds take their next steps into work, training, or education.
Running from 25 to 31 August 2025, Careers Worcs Week will shine a spotlight on the help available through Careers Worcs' 16–24 Hubs, with a particular focus on those receiving their GCSE or A-Level results.
Career hubs in Worcester, Redditch, Kidderminster, and Bromsgrove provide dedicated spaces for one-to-one support on apprenticeships, CV writing, job applications, interview skills, training options and more.
Throughout the week, young people are invited to attend Summer Clinics, which offer tailored advice, career talks, and the chance to meet local employers. The sessions will showcase the wide range of opportunities available – from apprenticeships and training courses to Skills Bootcamps and further education.
Councillor Alan Amos, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Business and Skills, said: “I’m pleased to announce the first annual Careers Worcs Week. Whether it’s apprenticeships, training or employment, our 16–24 Career Hubs are focused on getting young people into real opportunities that benefit both them and our local economy.
This is a clear example of how we are delivering practical, results-driven support for young people across the county. It’s part of our ongoing work to strengthen Worcestershire’s skills base, support business growth, and drive long-term economic development.”
Charlotte McCaughtrie, Programme Manager for Careers Worcs, added: “We know exam results season can bring a lot of uncertainty, so our 16–24 Career Hubs are here to offer much needed support, tools and encouragement that young people need to move forward. We’re opening our doors to everyone to come and see what’s available to support our county’s future workforce – and that support continues all year round.”
To boost engagement, Careers Worcs will also be sharing interactive content across social media throughout the week, offering valuable tools and resources to help young people move forward. Parents and carers are also welcome to visit the hubs to find out more about the support available.
