A Christmas Message from the Chairman of Worcestershire County Council

Councillor Kyle Daisley, Chairman of Worcestershire County Council, has shared a festive message.

He said: “For many of us, Christmas is a time for togetherness, as we look forward to spending time with family and friends, but it can be a challenging and lonely time for many people.
“It is important to look after our mental health during the festive period and to ensure we are looking out for those around us as well. If you or someone you know requires mental health support, please do reach out.

“Improving and highlighting mental health support in the county is one of my three top priorities, alongside bringing communities together and ensuring young people have a voice in shaping Worcestershire’s future. I believe that giving young people a voice is vital in creating a better world for future generations and have spent a lot of time working with local schools and community groups to highlight the positive impact Worcestershire’s young people have.

“Another cause close to my heart is ensuring better outcomes for our looked after children. My Christmas video message this year took place in front of a Christmas Tree at County Hall decorated by children in our care, which was heart-warming to see. It is our responsibility to provide the tools and support they need to enable them to become all they can be.

“Looking ahead to next year, I will be continuing to focus on ensuring Worcestershire remains a wonderful place which provides a good quality of life and excellent opportunities for all, where children and families can thrive and achieve their true potential.

“I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year.”
