2.75 Million items of PPE delivered by Worcestershire County Council

Worcestershire County Council has now delivered 2.75 million items of PPE to organisations since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2.75 million items have been delivered through a total of 2,500 orders.

The deliveries have helped organisations to continue to deliver key services during the coronavirus pandemic. PPE has been delivered to care homes, domiciliary care providers, social care staff, schools, VCS and Community Groups, GP surgeries and dentists.

Councillor Adam Kent, cabinet member with responsibility for Corporate Services and Communications at Worcestershire County Council said, “I would like to thank the Transformation and Commercial teams for their hard work in coordinating the distribution of these items. This effort has been instrumental in helping keep the people of Worcestershire safe and ensuring that key organisations have been able to work safely and effectively.

“For many PPE has been crucial in providing a safe environment when doing essential work.”

It has been one year since the 1 million milestone was reached.

PPE deliveries have been co-ordinated by Worcestershire County Council which has been instrumental in the supply and distribution of essential items during the Coronavirus crisis.

The Council has been working alongside other teams and partner organisations across the wider region, including the NHS.
