Setting the standards for practice
Key documents and guidance to meet the requirement of the EYFS and support the delivery of high quality early years provision.
The Early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets standards for learning, development and care of children from birth to five years. All Ofsted registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, pre-schools, nurseries, out of school care and school reception classes. The EYFS was updated in January 2024 and there is a separate EYFS document specific to childminders.
