The bus pass scheme offers eligible elderly and disabled people free travel on local bus services anywhere in England.
Apply for a pensioner bus pass
Before you start check if you are eligible
The age of eligibility for an older person's bus pass is now equal to the pensionable age for women, whether you are male or female.
To find out when you will qualify for a concessionary travel pass, use the GOV.UK state pension age calculator (opens in a separate window).
If you qualify you should apply a minimum of 28 working days before you need your new bus pass.
You will then need the following

1. A photograph of yourself
- The photo should be a passport style photo, which is focused on the face, and in colour.
- You can read about photograph requirements in the How to Upload Photos section on the concession website.
- If you are unable to upload your photograph then you can post a photo to us however please be aware that posting your photo may delay the processing of your application. Postal details are available at the end of this page.
2. Proof of Age
Choose one of the following:
- a copy of a driving licence,
- a copy of a birth certificate
- a copy of a passport.
3. Proof of address in Worcestershire
Choose one of the following:
- a copy of your driving licence
- a copy of a utility bill from within the last year
- a copy of a bank or credit card statement from within the last year
- a copy of a Council Tax bill from within the last year.
Disabled bus pass
Before you start check if you are eligible
You may be eligible for a concessionary Disabled Bus Pass if you:
- are blind or partially sighted
- are profoundly or severely deaf
- are without speech
- have a long term disability or injury which seriously impairs your ability to walk
- do not have the use of both arms
- have a learning disability and/or be registered with Adult and Community Services
- have had your driving license refused or revoked on medical or physical grounds.
If you qualify you should apply a minimum of 28 working days before you need your new bus pass.
You will then need the following

2. Proof of address in Worcestershire
Choose one of the following:
- a copy of a utility bill from within the last year
- a copy of a bank or credit card statement from within the last year
- a copy of a Council Tax bill from within the last year
- a copy of your driving licence
3. Proof of Eligibility
To qualify, you will need to provide a copy of proof of one of the following:
- proof of disability. We will accept a copy of one of the following: Higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance. Or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) with a score of 8 points or more for the 'moving around' activity under the mobility component. The award date should not have expired and the evidence should be dated within the last 12 months.
- War pensioner's mobility supplement
- Blind/disabled person's certificate of registration
- evidence of registration with other relevant bodies, such as the RNIB
- proof of registration with Adult and Community Services (Learning disability/mental health)
- proof of receipt of special education i.e. 'a copy of your statement of Special Education Needs (SEN)' or copy of an 'Education Health Care Plan' EHCP
- evidence of attendance at/or association with a local learning disability organisation.
- evidence from the DVLA confirming that your driving licence has been revoked on Medical Grounds or, alternatively, supply medical evidence to show that if you were to apply for a driving licence, you would have your application refused, otherwise than on the ground of persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol.
- medical evidence from a specialist consultant, or independent medical professional, confirming your disability may also be considered.
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
Disabled (with a companion) bus pass
Before you start check if you are eligible
You may be eligible for a concessionary Disabled Bus Pass with companion if you receive:
- higher rate care component of Disability Living Allowance
- personal independence payment (a score of 8 or more for the "planning and following a journey" activity)
If you qualify you should apply a minimum of 28 working days before you need your new bus pass.

Please note: If you already have a Disabled Bus Pass (without a companion), you will NOT be able to apply online.
Instead you need to email your name, address, current bus pass number, and proof of eligibility to ConTravelAdmin@worcestershire.gov.uk or post them to the address at the bottom of this page.
If you can have a companion pass, you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days, and your current pass will be cancelled automatically.
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
Does your concessionary bus pass need renewing?
If your Concessionary Bus pass has expired, or is due to expire in the next 3 months, you can renew your pass below.
Please note: if your pass has expired over 12 months ago, or your previous pass was not issued by Worcestershire County Council, you will need to apply for a new bus pass.

Renew your Concessionary Bus Pass online
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
Bus pass is no longer needed
To notify us that a Concessionary Bus pass is no longer required, please complete the request below.
This could be because:
- the pass holder is deceased
- has moved out of Worcestershire
- the pass is no longer needed.
Concessionary Bus Pass no longer - needed online cancellation
I have lost or damaged my pass and need a replacement
It is your responsibility to ensure that your Pass is in good condition so that it can be scanned by bus ticket machines.
Ticket machines may no longer be able to scan damaged passes that are:
- split/cut/worn
- held together with tape or
- have holes in them
Additionally, if you can no longer be identified by the photograph because your appearance has changed or the photograph is damaged, then you must order a replacement Pass.
If your Concessionary Bus Pass has been lost or damaged, you can request a replacement pass below. A fee of £5 is payable at the end of the application.
Please note: If your pass is from Worcestershire, and due to expire in the next 3 months, you can renew your pass free of charge.

Replace lost or damaged Concessionary Bus Pass online
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
I need to inform you my name or address has changed
To notify us that you have moved or changed your address, please complete the application form below and we will update your details. If you have changed your name, we will issue you with a new pass.
Address changes:
- if you have moved within Worcestershire, your address details will be updated and your current pass will remain valid.
- if you have moved into Worcestershire, and you hold a current Concessionary Travel Pass, you will need to cancel the pass with the issuing authority and Apply for a new bus pass with Worcestershire County Council.
- if you are moving outside of Worcestershire - please visit Bus pass no longer needed.

Apply online to change existing details on your Concessionary Bus Pass
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
My bus pass has been stolen and I need a replacement
If your Pass has been stolen, report it to the Police and they will give you a Crime Reference Number. There will be no charge if you order a replacement Pass when you provide your Crime Reference Number.
Please be aware you will need to submit a Crime Reference Number during the application.

Replace a Concessionary Bus Pass that has been stolen
Once you have completed your application you can expect to receive your new pass within 28 working days (unless we require any further information from you, in which case we will be in touch).
