Worcestershire Libraries are part of the Warm Welcome Network and provide a warm welcome for everyone this winter.

Libraries across the county are open year-round for residents, however, the warm welcome will offer extra opportunities for residents to visit them to keep warm, get advice/information and stay connected with others this winter.

All libraries will be able to signpost people to community partners and agencies that can support people through the rising cost of living.

Libraries can help you:

  • connect with others and avoid isolation
  • get to grips with finances
  • improve skills and work opportunities
  • manage your wellbeing
  • understand what support is available to you

All the other usual library facilities will be available too, including free access to books, newspapers, computers, the internet, wi-fi, digital support, and study spaces for anyone who needs to do some quiet work. Our libraries host regular events, clubs, and sessions both for children and adults. From Reading Groups to Health Walks, Bounce & Rhyme to Lego Club and Knit & Natter to Job Clubs, there’s something for everyone!

Everyone is welcome to use the library as a warm space, and staff will provide a friendly welcome to make you feel comfortable.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Our libraries are always welcoming spaces for people to visit and use, but our warm spaces will have some additional resources to help people through this time and hopefully ease the pressure.

“Located at the heart of our communities, our libraries are fantastic facilities with exceptional staff to support our residents. They are well equipped to ensure that anyone who visits them will benefit from the advice and support that is available. I encourage members of the community to help spread the word and I hope to see you at one of our libraries soon.”
