From making your home energy-efficient to support with your wellbeing, Worcestershire Libraries are here to help you this winter.

During January and February, Worcestershire Libraries are holding a series Cost of Living Fairs, to provide residents with information and advice to help with the rising cost of living.

The events, which are free, for residents to visit will have multiple partners on hand to offer advice on:

  • support with managing money, housing and benefits
  • making your home more energy-efficient and managing energy bills
  • improving your wellbeing
  • finding work, or setting up a business
  • support for parents, carers and families
  • improving your digital skills and other learning opportunities
  • where to go to get further support and help
  • what the library has to offer, such as free books and resources in libraries and online, events and activities

You’ll be able to speak to staff from a wide range of organisations, including Act on Energy, Age UK, Seetec, Department for Work and Pensions, Trussel Trust and Shaw Trust. Many local services, including Adult Learning Worcestershire, The Living Well for Longer Team, Worcestershire Libraries Digital Champions, and Here to Help Worcestershire will also be in attendance for you to speak to.

These events are part of Worcestershire Libraries’ ongoing commitment to serving the needs of the community, and providing resources to help people at this challenging time.

Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities at Worcestershire County Council said: “We understand that residents are rightly concerned about the rise in the cost of living. Our goal is to provide as much support as we can to anyone needing assistance. A variety of experts will be present to chat face-to-face with residents, and there will be plenty of stands and information on offer. It is our hope that this will offer reassurance to our residents, as well as point those in need towards specific services and assistance.”

No appointment is needed to attend, and the event is open to all residents across the county and free refreshments will be provided.
