Pitching competition launches to early-stage businesses and budding entrepreneurs across the county.
Aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up businesses, less than one-year-old, in Worcestershire are being encouraged to enter an exciting competition to pitch their business idea or concept to a small judging panel of local business experts during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The competition, which takes place on the 17 November at The Hive, is the perfect opportunity to help those who are just embarking on their entrepreneurial journey, or new to pitching, to hone their selling skills.
A £250, £100, and £50 Amazon Voucher is up for grabs for the first, second and third place winners, courtesy of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership. The lucky winner will also receive a 2-hour consultancy package from Rockfine Group.
Shortlisted entrants will receive a free year’s membership to the national business support platform, Enterprise Nation, and will have the opportunity to attend a workshop before the pitching event to ensure they are well-prepared for the day.
To be considered for shortlisting, interested applicants must submit their entry by 11 pm on the 30 October. To enter, applicants must submit this simple form.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills, and Infrastructure, said, “QuickPitch will showcase some of the great entrepreneurial talents we have in our county. With many individuals now looking at starting their own businesses, this event provides an invaluable opportunity to share ideas in front of a supportive community and is a unique platform to promote and gain exposure to their business concepts. I look forward to hearing some innovative, thought-provoking pitches.”
QuickPitch is hosted by Worcestershire County Council’s Enterprising Worcestershire Project in partnership with The University of Worcester and BIPC Worcestershire. Throughout the day information and guidance will be made available to pre-starts and to early-stage businesses.
Worcestershire County Council is committed to enabling high growth start-ups to expand and aim to provide direct support, advice and guidance to businesses seeking growth and investment.
