Starting school for the first time can be an exciting time but also daunting for both children and their parents.

If your child is starting school this September, why not visit their Ready for School webpage? It is full of helpful hints and tips to help get you and your child get ready for the transition into school life.

Tips include meeting up with other children before terms starts to help them settle in with other children starting school at the same time or doing a trial walk to school to help make their first at day school a little less daunting.

Councillor Tracey Onslow, Cabinet Member for Education at Worcestershire County Council said, “The start of the school year can be a daunting time for some members of the school community. We want to try and make the journey starting school as easy as possible so we are sharing a number of tips and advice on our social media and our website to help make that first step through the school gate as stress free as possible.”
