A new image gives a great view over the new roundabout being constructed at the A38/A4104 junction near Upton-upon-Severn, showing traffic using the roundabout for the first time.

Traffic is now able to travel on the approaches and around part the roundabout, with temporary traffic management in place to allow the remaining works to be undertaken safely.

The major scheme is being carried out by Worcestershire County Council to replace the previous staggered junction with a new 4-arm roundabout to help reduce congestion in the area.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills said: “Works have progressed really well and it’s great that we’ve now been able to switch the traffic over to travel along the routes of the new approaches and roundabout.

“Please be aware that there are still a lot of works taking place on this project, so various traffic management measures will be required until the completion of the works later this year.”

Keep an eye on the Council’s website to stay up to date with all traffic management in the area.

The new roundabout is scheduled to be fully operational this Autumn.

More information about the scheme can be found on the County Council website.
