Have your say on proposals for a new station car park at Blakedown

Outside Blakedown Station Published Friday, 8th October 2021

Residents are being urged to have their say on a proposed new car park at Blakedown Railway Station.

Worcestershire County Council is unveiling plans to offer up to 87 parking spaces at the site near Blakedown Station, before a formal planning application is lodged.

The car park would include six allocated parking bays for users with reduced mobility and five EV (electronic vehicle) charging points. It also includes parking for up to eight motorbikes and 12 cycle stands.

The proposed scheme is being shared online on the County Council’s website and at two community drop-in events at Blakedown Parish Rooms on:

  • 13th October 2021, 2:00pm to 5:00pm and
  • 15th October 2021, 4:30pm to 7:00pm

Councillor Alan Amos, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Highways and Transport, said: “Worcestershire County Council is committed to improving rail access and connectivity for its residents, businesses and visitors.

“A new car park will encourage people in the local area to use alternative travel by improving the infrastructure to support travel by rail.

“I’d like to encourage people to have a look online or go along to the exhibitions to find out more about the proposed plans and tell us their views.”

To view the proposals for the car park, and for more information go to the County Council website.
