Bromsgrove Library will play host to a new group that will explore Bromsgrove’s fascinating history.

The Looking Back At Bromsgrove group will meet each month in Bromsgrove library to discuss, share and discover history together.

The group is free to join and open to anyone with a passion for history and the local area.

People will be able to browse a number of records and books, held at the library, focussed on the history of the local area as well as the local history collection.

Members of the Bromsgrove Society Local History Group will be on hand to discuss and share stories, and people are invited to bring along their own collections and memories.

Councillor Matt Dormer, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the area you live in and discover Bromsgrove’s rich and vibrant past, as well as share any knowledge, photos or memorabilia that you might have.”

The history group will be held 10am-11am on the 4th Friday of every month, with a different subject focus each month.

September’s meet up will focus on shops and shopping in the market town. October will follow with the subject ‘School Days’ reminiscing back to the classroom.

Refreshments will be provided.
