Worcestershire Children First have set out their business plan for the next financial year (2021/22).
Worcestershire Children First is the company responsible for delivering children’s services across the county of Worcestershire.
These services include children’s social care, education, early help and fostering.
The company is 100% owned by Worcestershire County Council and delivers its children’s services on behalf of the local authority working with partners across the county to ensure children, young people and families receive the best possible service.
The Business Plan for 2020/21 will come into force from Thursday 1st April and was approved by the County Council Cabinet at their March meeting.
The Business Plan builds upon the vision, ambition and priorities set out in the company’s first two Business Plans following its launch on 1 October 2019.
Tina Russell, Interim Chief Executive of Worcestershire Children First, said: “Our business plan outlines how we will keep the vision we have set ourselves as a company to ensure Worcestershire is a wonderful place for all children and young people to grow up in, and our mission to ensure they are all happy, healthy and safe.
“We remain committed to these values; to keep children at the heart of everything we do, value family life, provide good education for all, and protect children from harm.
The plan covers such areas as:
How they are working in partnership with Worcestershire County Council as a wholly owned council company;
How they work within the company of Worcestershire Children First – a whole service working together as an entity across the early help, education, and social care agenda;
How they will continue to support their workforce, who are fundamental to their foundation, to help achieve both sustainability and ongoing improvement and development.
Supporting the company priorities each directorate has a focused operational plan that draws out the priorities for service development, improvement and innovation.
