School admission applications in 2021 due to close in one month

Published Tuesday, 15th December 2020

Parents of all children starting school next year have exactly one month left to submit their applications.

The deadline to apply for a place at a Worcestershire Primary, First, Infant, Junior and Middle school is 15th January 2021, when applications close at midnight.

For children born between the 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017, parents must apply for a school place starting in September 2021 before the deadline or they may not receive an offer for one of their preferred schools.

Applying online is the easiest and most efficient way to apply by visiting the Council’s dedicated School Admissions pages.   It is secure and parents and carers can log on to the website at any time during the day or night. This means last minutes changes are possible up to 12 midnight on the closing day.

Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Education and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, Councillor Marcus Hart said: “We aim to make the big step of starting school a smooth process.

"We are pleased that with admission for September 2020 every child that applied had a place offered to them, with 9 in every 10 child getting their first choice preference.

"However, it is especially important that the deadlines for application are met to avoid missing out on a place."

If you do not have access to the internet, you can get online at any Worcestershire library or if you require additional assistance please do not hesitate to call School Admissions on 01905 822700.
