Worcestershire Libraries have teamed-up with Poetry on Loan to provide a poetry gifting service to help customers stay connected with their loved ones this Christmas.
Poetry on Demand gives Library customers the chance to gift family or friends a unique, personalised poem written by one of six local poets, completely free of charge.
It offers a unique opportunity for customers to re-connect with an old friend, send a message to a loved one they are unable to visit or celebrate a milestone without a big party.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities said: “Poetry is a fantastic way for us to convey our emotions and stay connected with loved ones. As Christmas this year will be slightly different for all of us, this is a unique and wonderful opportunity to give a personal and meaningful gift.”
Worcestershire Libraries have been helping people to stay connected during this difficult period with a range of online activities including Poetry in Motion, Poetry on Form and National Poetry Day. They believe that poetry can connect and lift people at this difficult time.
To request a poem, please complete the online form (Worcestershire Libraries - Poetry On Demand) by Tuesday 15th December 2020.
Worcestershire Libraries have a large collection of poetry books to reserve, borrow and collect in person or online via BorrowBox. Please visit www.worcestershire.gov.uk/libraries.
