Limitations to Registration Services in Worcestershire

Published Thursday, 5th November 2020

From today Registration Services in Worcestershire are limited due to the start of a four-week Lockdown in England.

Registration offices in the county are closed to the public unless an appointment has been pre-booked or is essential.

As per national guidance wedding and civil partnership ceremonies have been suspended

Notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership appointments are also limited with only urgent appointments taking place (couple’s whose ceremonies are due to take place in the next three months.)

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities said: “Our Registrations team will continue to work hard to provide their services within the restrictions of the Lockdown. Our number one priority is to keep our staff and our residents safe. We will be there to officiate at those most urgent weddings and civil ceremonies. Although our offices are closed to the public it is still possible to pre-book an appointment. You’ll find much more information on the Worcestershire County Council website.”

Other services are continuing, with death registration taking place over the telephone.

The Worcestershire Registration Services webpage is being updated with all of the limitations to services which will be in place from today.
