Welcome back! Worcestershire is open for business

Published Thursday, 6th August 2020

Let’s help our county’s economy flourish with Worcestershire open for business.

Worcestershire is open and extending a warm welcome back to residents and tourists alike to explore the county and support its diverse mix of businesses as lockdown eases.

From shops to salons, attractions to alfresco dining – many of the county’s best-loved firms and visitor hotspots are reopening.

And it’s time to explore what’s right here on your doorstep, bringing a welcome boost to the county’s economy.

Who hasn’t missed grabbing a coffee from their favourite café, taking in the breathtaking views of their best beauty spot, or buying a special gift from one of the county’s much-valued independent retailers.

The Here2Help initiative, led by Worcestershire County Council, brought out the best in our communities providing support, advice and guidance to people and businesses in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

And now Worcestershire County Council wants to help our communities highlight their recovery over the coming weeks.

Councillor Ken Pollock, Worcestershire County Council Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Infrastructure, said: “We’re offering a warm Worcestershire welcome to everyone returning to see the best of the county.

“The coronavirus pandemic left us all reeling yet our county has shown through the Here2Help campaign how we have come together amid the toughest of times.

“Now we want to encourage more people back into the county with safety at the forefront of our minds.

“Support our wonderful businesses, go and explore and please enjoy the hospitality we have to offer.”

Annette Gorton, managing director, of Broadway Tower, added: “We’ve started welcoming back so many customers already and we can’t wait to see many more people from across the county and beyond pay us a visit.

“We’re among the businesses taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and it would be great to see people living right here on our doorstep and our much-valued regulars stopping by over the coming weeks.

“Broadway Tower is a special place and we’d love to share it again with all of you.”

We’ll be showing off our county in all its glory across social media with the hashtags #WelcomebacktoWorcs and #WorcsIsOpen in the coming weeks.
